When you think of winter sports, you usually think of skiing. But in the country of the White Gold, there are many other ways of enjoying nature and the fresh air you get at high altitude, such as walking, for instance.

If you ski and would like to find an alternative to skiing for a day or half a day, or if you don’t ski and just want to enjoy the mountains Courchevel can offer you 17 km of marked, well-maintained paths through unspoilt countryside.

Whether on foot or with snow shoes you can set off to discover peaceful mountain scenery through the forests. And perhaps you’ll come across traces of wild life in the newly-fallen snow, or maybe you’ll stop off in one of the many secluded hamlets that abound in Courchevel.

Tobogganing

Courchevel offers something unique in France: a sledging run 2 km long, with 300 m of vertical and an average incline of 15%. The run is floodlit from start to finish, allowing evening descents.

The runs departure point is located at the edge of the Tovets ski run in Courchevel 1850; its arrival point is in Courchevel 1550. Access to the sled run is provided by the Grangettes gondola, from Courchevel 1550, also its arrival point.

The lift is free of charge for those with valid ski or pedestrian lift passes. Without a valid pass, each ride on the lift is 6 €.
